The TDSA’s mission is to help residents across the greater Tubac area preserve the precious dark sky. Light pollution, while just as harmful as air or water pollution, is the most controllable. The TDSA works to educate the community on the importance of dark sky preservation and supports local homeowners, businesses, and governments in reducing light pollution. One of the key successes has been the enactment of an improved outdoor lighting code, which promotes responsible, energy-efficient lighting practices.
